Atlanta is about to become the first city in the U.S. to host the Olympic Games.
On Thursday, the Georgia State Fairgrounds unveiled a new indoor and outdoor bad-minton venue that will open to the public in 2020.
The venue, which is scheduled to open in 2019, will feature a mixed-use area, a video screen and an Olympic-themed bar.
The Atlanta Badminton Club and Olympic Badmasses Club will also join the venue.
The club will be open on Sundays.
“We’re very excited about this venue, especially because it’s going to be part of the Atlanta Olympics, and we are also excited about the fact that the club will open in the summertime,” said Giselle Gentry, the chief executive of the Augusta Badmarts Club.
The facility will be part a larger Olympic development, which will include a new stadium and a hotel.
The development will also include the Olympic Bad minton and Badmassing Club.
“The idea of the Olympic Complex is to be a place where you can go, play, and feel comfortable,” Gentry said.
“And it’s also a place to celebrate the athletes, the sport and the event.”
The venue will also feature a live concert by the band “Mona Lisa” as well as a video screensaver, which can be viewed on the new bar.
The venue is part of a larger development for the Atlanta Olympic Complex, which includes the Atlanta Bad marts and Bad massing clubs.
As part of that development, the club has been partnering with the Atlanta Athletic Association to provide the venue with its own facilities, which are being built in collaboration with the Georgia Department of Economic Development.
“The Atlanta Badfams Club will be hosting a summer-themed Badmass competition,” said Scott C. Taylor, vice president of development for The Atlanta Athletic.
“As the Atlanta athletic department continues to look at our infrastructure, we have great expectations for the development of this complex.
We are very excited to partner with the Badmashas to create a venue for our athletes to come and play.”
The Atlanta State Fair Grounds and the Atlanta Sports Complex are in downtown Atlanta.
Gentry said the club plans to partner closely with the state of Georgia to ensure that the venue meets the state’s requirements.
Atlanta Mayor Kasim Reed has been an outspoken critic of the Games and of the proposed 2024 Summer Games.
